On Thursday April 14, more than 60 Chamber members and invited guests ate, drank, chatted and joined the Xpats team in celebrating their first decade of kickstarting economic engines.
Over the course of two very fun (After) Hours, Chamber Board Directors, Council Members and City staff broke bread with local business owners, nonprofit executives, entrepreneurs, artists and more, all in the name of connection and community.
The centerpiece of the evening was the amazing tenth anniversary cake a panel discussion featuring Leif Utne (who was the very first OfficeXpat member, way back in the Summer of 2011 and is now to managing editor of Tideland Magazine) Alex Sanso (who has gone from making art at home, to in public, to at her very own Island Life store on Winslow Way), and author Dave Kragen (who is the longest-serving OfficeXpats Ambassador, and founder of the Island’s small business support group, the BBC (Bainbridge Business Connection), followed by a pair of 5-minute presentations from (round-the-world bike adventurers) Paula Holmes-Eber and Lorenz Eber, and recently-retired UW professor Kathleen Wolf (who previewed her new book about the link between human health and natural environment).
Thank you goes to OfficeXpats, Eleven Winery (the presenting sponsor of the 2022 After Hours series), Green Pot Deli, and Town & Country Markets for graciously providing refreshing wine, beverages, and tasty small bites to one and all…
“We are so grateful that the world has finally allowed us to celebrate our tenth anniversary in such great style – even with a 6-month delay is was wonderful to party with friends and have our current members present some of the exciting things going on at OfficeXpats here in 2022.”
